Earth day 2016
How are you feeling about Earth Day 2016? Happy, positive, inspired? Though you might not be feeling it, so much good is happening all around you by so many people. Earth Day 2016 is a time to celebrate the good we’ve achieved and look to what good we can do in the future. Doing good isn’t just random, but comes from our intention and the little decisions, and actions, we make every day. You don’t have to be an eco warrior, cure cancer or perform other epic acts. A smile, a thought or an act of kindness are equally important and make all the difference.
It’s not all lost, pointless and bad. Try and see the media’s incessant advertising and negative news for what it is. A mechanism to make you feel inadequate and fearful that stifles your innate positive innovation and development. But you do not need to let it cloud your world view. It is a very small part of a very big picture. Remember, there is overwhelming good in us all and be assured that a vast amount of good acts happen all around you that you never realise. You may not be feeling that good inside, but the good news is, there is a simple way to change that.
Your intention is the most precious element that moulds how you experience the world. Simply put. “What you focus on you bring into the world.” This means, you can choose to be happy.
The latest research has estimated that, in the internet era, you are now connected to everyone on the earth by approximately 4 relationships and that what you do ripples out around 4 layers from you. So what you do really does affect the world.
So, on “Earth day 2016”, why not start to make a conscious decision to be happy. Because when you are happy you have more energy to be innovative, to experiment and to drive positive change. Simply focus on the good, wish for the good, drive the good, support the good & share the good, whatever you perceive “the good” to be, and your world will change.
Happy Earth day 2016 and happy earth life.
Here are some words I like by Max Ehrmann.
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others,
even to the dull and ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be
greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career
it is a real possession in the
changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you
to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit
to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore, be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham,
drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.
